The valve failed, so we used a new tube. Only have one spare per bike, so time to visit a bike shop. Were not planning to visit Cahor, but only 15 km in the wrong direction and no other decent-sized places for a while.
So glad that we went! We had a lovely dinner in town and cycled back through the city in the dark (note: best time to view old cities, when all the tourists are gone, the souvenir shops are shuttered and there is an air of ancient mystery all about).
We managed to burn up almost the entire day today doing laundry, buying necessities and visiting the old city.
Started riding at 1500 and nearly achieved Barb's goal of being in camp with dinner ingredients in hand by 1700!
Only about 40 km as a result, but the last 25 were superb - winding road up the Lot valley (did I mention no climbing?)
