The French campgrounds employ a rating system that, as far as we can tell, is based primarily on the facilities sanitaire.
One star - no bad smells
Two star - warm water from at least one tap
Three star - soap and/or toilet paper provided
Four star - toilets have seats
Barb tells me that a four-star rating cannot be awarded unless the shower stalls are arranged so that it is possible to keep your clothing dry while you get wet.
If you were to introduce shower-curtains to the French, would you be as big as Charlemagne?
