The Camino de Santiago

Beginning at Rocamador we have been seeing pilgrims on the Camino, mostly on foot but two on bicycle. They are usually identified by a pair of high-tech walking sticks and sturdy boots ( the Butterfield and Robinson package hiking tourists dress the same, but don't have the pious gaze).  Last night our neighbours in camp shared their story; they started walking in Munchen in July and expect to be in Finisterre by mid November. After a visit to Madrid, they fly to Tenerife where they will live for a year while he writes his next book. Some people are on such a different trajectory from our own.

After some consideration we ruled out altering course toward Santiago-Compostella and are continuing on our own pilgrimage of sorts to Avignon and Mt. Ventoux. Our path is somewhat more clear now that we have purchased the next map ...

1. Pilgrims Michael and Angelica

2. Pilgrim dog Finn

3. Spot the pilgrims in Cahor
