We managed to burn an alarmingly large portion of the day finding a hotel in Amsterdam. We still found time to walk till we dropped, and are leaving with a favorable impression of Bordeaux. It has more km of pedestrian streets than any place we have been (though the risk of death by motor scooter is still always present) and the large student population invigorates the streets. There is plenty of urban renewal in process, and as a result many of the old buildings look great.
We wrapped up the day eating right across from our hotel, at one of the many brasseries across from the Gare. Its a pretty bad neighborhood, but the area around the station is fine and teeming with activity; makes for great people-watching.
One big church! This wall dates back to the 11th century
Shopping and dining off to infinity
Sign of the Camino. They are on the roads and sidewalks all around the city
Part of the station (it stretches for blocks!)
I have so many questions !
